U.S. wheat grant diverted to Africa

GEORGETOWN, AP · An annual grant of U.S. wheat that this South American nation has received for decades will be sent this year to sub-Saharan Africa, where the need is greater, a spokesman for the American Embassy said Saturday.

Coast Guard lacks capacity to deal with drug trafficking alone

International trends have shown that drug dealers prefer to transport narcotics by sea, but Colonel Enoch Gaskin of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) says the Coast Guard unit does not have the capacity to tackle this problem on its own.

Stone and Shell

I used a stone to pound a shell.
I pounded it to smithereens
Then ground it into dust.
Now the shell is hushed,
I weigh the stone against the dust.

1. “nothing to lose, have fun with it, do what you can” are all empty phrases. Useless clichés in the world of track & field.
2. you absolutely have to go into a race with your own race plan.
