December 23rd, 2005 § 1

FOREVER INSPIRATIONAL REACHING SOULS TEACHING BROTHERHOOD OBEDIENCE RIGHTEOUSNESS NATURALLY

Out of Guyana, land of many waters, on mainland South America bounded on the South by Brazil, on the east by Suriname, on the West by Venezuela and on the North by the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, FIRST BORN Guyanese by birth, Rastafarian (by choice) to their very core, this quintet delivers a strain of Reggae music that exuded, spirituality, culture, tremendous brotherly love and originality.

Originally conceived as an accapella outfit in the 1990’s, they achieved a breakthrough in 1997 with a live showcase on the Freddy Mc Greggor concert at the Guyana National park, promoted by Vizion Sounds, Walter ‘wally’ Fraser. The existing of the then line up TROY AZORE, SHAWN WILLIAMS, TRAYON GARRETT and LAMBERT SEMPLE, so impressed ‘wally’ and the late great Dennis Emmanuel Brown with their unique originality, that wally signed them to his label VIZION SOUNDS RECORDS and Dennis Brown offered his special vocals on their debut single ‘Repatriation Time’. This track featuring prominently on their acclaimed follow up album ‘Exodus Chapter XIII Verse 2’ which was recorded at Leggo’s Studio, Kingston, Jamaica with saxophone contribution and musical direction by the magical Dean Fraser. The album gaining two Guyana National Awards for Best New Artists and Best New Group. ROLSTON RICHMOND was now welcomed to the unit and has ever since positively added to what is FIRST BORN.

Since joining the Vizion Sounds Records family circle, their talent, craftsmanship and presence both in studio and on stage has blossomed and matured almost beyond belief, ably demonstrated with live performances in the company of artists like Buju Banton, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Capleton, Sizzla, Gregory Isaacs, Luciano, Mikey General, Glen Washington, Shaggy and many more.
First Born
They felt supremely honoured when in November, 2002, they were invited to Jamaica to participate in the celebration of the Coronation of His Imperial Majesty Haile Salassie I. The event being staged by the three leading organization in the Rastafarian Community and most notably attended by the grandson of His Imperial Majesty.

With the rapidly expanding, adoring fan base and several tracks achieving anthem like status with their insistent calls for love, unity and prayers in their native Guyana, they were honoured by being asked to perform the National Anthem at the Guyana Miss Universe Pageant and the annual Boxing Day, Boxing Championships of 2002. Culminating that years’ home front engagements with several performances at the Flag Raising Ceremony commemorating the anniversary of Guyana’s Independence. In September 2002, they travelled and opened for Shaggy in Suriname.

Barbados was their next port of call when in March, 2003, they were the opening act for Sizzla at the Block party concert then follow the birthday of Sizzla ‘Rise to the Occasion’ back by the Fire House Band in 2004 at Caymanas Park, Jamaica where they shared the stage with Coco Tea, Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Marcia Griffith, Richie Stevens, Chezidek and many more.Hard work and everything else that goes with studio recording sessions. Recording at Anchor Recording Studios and Leggo’s Studio, and the invaluable input from Phillip ‘fattis’ Burrell and his generous Xterminator Production Crew, and the magical touch in mixing by Steven Stanley of Steven Stanley Recording Studio was the final touch resulting in their second album ‘CONFIDENT’.

Their third album ‘WAKE UP CALL’ clearly show the groups positive growth, talent expansion and maturity. With collaborations with Buju Banton (How are we gonna Survive), Gregory Isaacs (Muzik is the Rock), Natural Black (Jah Blessing) and remastered track from Dennis Brown (Mr Bojangles).
