St. Lucia offers amnesty for all Caricom nationals

Castries—8 Sept. 2006—Guyanese are expected to be the biggest grouping to benefit from the Amnesty for CARICOM nationals who have been living illegally in Saint Lucia.
The Prime Minister ’s Press Secretary Earl Bousquet says the decision was made in part to sensitivity for the strong links that exists between Guyanese and St. Lucians.

Guyana will be showcasing its cultures and traditions to the world, during a ten-day Carifesta IX festival scheduled to begin in Trinidad and Tobago on September 22.
The celebration will be held under the theme “Celebrating Our People: Contesting the World Stage and will have participants from the Caribbean.
