Hello there, i have been looking for such oppourtunity for a long time. Please i am a Nigerian prospective student of Greenheart Medical university to study Medicine,i have paid my fees since september,2007 but i was told that there is a ban on nigerian students visa application by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Please i need you to help me because i do not even know when the ban would be lifted and this is almost my 4th month of waiting, if you ask me i would say that it would only be right to grant people that were to resume in September then after that the suspension could be enforced as i was supposed to have resumed september and this is January and nothing is in cite, because i even paid my fees shortly before the ban was placed, please your quick response would be appreciated.thanks so much

This is in response to Mr. Ogunwale Olajide who wrote in on
January 17th, 2008. I contacted the Ministry of Home Affairs in Guyana and Greenheart Medical University. Greenheart said it was NOT a ban but a freeze because of a security issue. The freeze has been lifted and the visa process has been re-opened. I heard the process takes a while though.

    I hope this helps.

vog: owadokun you have a couple options. there is a consulate in South Africa listed above you can call or the Botswana consulate listed below. you may have to send in payment for the application form before they mail it to you, but they may waive this. additionally you can contact the consulate in Canada, US or UK listed on this page http://voiceofguyana.com/2008/02/20/guyanas-diplomatic-consular-representatives/ but we recommend the ones in Africa first as they should be faster for you

    To whom it may concern.

I am a guyanese who has fulfilled all the neccessary steps to accquring a visa on arrival for a friend who wishes to travel from the Democratic Republic of The Congo. My application was subitted to the ministry on January 28, 2008, todate May 28th, I have not received any words except “it processing” or it not ready as yet” these words from personnel within the immigration department of the ministry.
It is very fustrating to me because I done all that was required of me and yet no one seems to care that a process that should be completed within a few weeks or months seems to be taking half a year…..
I am therefore seeking some advice as to the exact time a visa on arrival for individuals takes to process.

    respectfully,
    Renee.
