My husband’s pp will be expired next mth. The consulate here in Grenada says that we have to travel to Guyana…Is there any other option for us to obtain same without traveling to Guyana.

NB. Great job Guyana is doing here.

Hello, Im a Guyanese studying in London at the moment. My current passport will expire July 2010 which I will renew here at the embassy. However, I will be coming home for Christmas of this year. With me recent renewal, would it still be possible to get a machine readable passport? or would i have to wait for the 5 years duration before I can apply for the new version?

Good day I’m living in Tortola BVI my passport is expiring in 2011. I will be travelling back to Guyana on July 15th, 2010 is it possible to have my passport changed to the Caricom readable one?

My son is 17 years old and is attending college in the US. His Passport expires in July 2010. He would be travelling alone to Guyana in June, would he be able to apply and uplift his machine readable passport on his own, or does he need authorizations from his parents

Hi,
My husband and I live in the Bahamas.Our last passport which expires in 2012 was issued in New York.WE would like to obtain machine readable ones. Will we be able to do so in New York this August(2010)?
Please advise.

vog: we’re not sure what is the wait time is for a passport from the New York consulate. you would have to call them to verify that you can uplift one in that timeframe

Iwas in guyana for close to five months and wanted to get a guyana passport I had all the documents needed waited for three hours in a line to be told by a person that works at the office my passpoet was too old and I needed to go to notary and swear that that it is my passport. I lef guyana in 1975 and always spent every christmas home. what upset me Iy birth certificate what saying I was born in guyana. all my forms were filled out so sad need my guyana passport. I am a guyanes first and a canadian second
i still have all the forms what should i do

vog: Faye you have to follow the advise given to you. 1975 is a long time ago. it would’ve taken you maybe 15 minutes to get that done with a notary. the old passport must be presented before you can receive a new one.

Good Day!

I am residing in St. Maarten, my daughter’s passport has a wrong date of birth, I would like to change the date.
Please let me know how do I go about with this, because I need to rectify it ASAP so that we can travel.
Please let me know if I can come along with her passport or I have to bring my daughter along with me to Guyana.

I there , I am living in Tortola and my passport expires in August 2010 , but I am not in a position to travel until September 2010 to go home and renew . Is it possible for me to travel with this expired passport

vog: most airlines will not allow you to travel within six months of the expiration of your passport under normal circumstances

I am planning to live in Australia for two years during which time my Guyanese passport will expire, where can I go to renew this as I dont see any Guyanese Consulate in Australia

vog: we strongly suggest renewing your passport before travelling, otherwise you will have problems as you would have to mail your passport with signed application form etc to be renewed.
